Michigan State sees most Vegas action ahead of NCAA tournament

LAS VEGAS -- Michigan State is garnering a lot of betting attention heading into the first full days of the NCAA tournament.

More money and more bets have been placed on the Spartans to win the tournament than on any other team at the Westgate SuperBook and William Hill's Nevada sportsbook. As of Tuesday night, 19 percent of the total amount bet on William Hill's odds to win the tournament was on Michigan State.

The Spartans andKansasare co-favorites at 9-2 to win the tournament at the SuperBook. North Carolina also is in the mix, a notch below at 5-1. Kansas is the favorite at 4-1 at Station Casinos' sportsbook. The Spartans, Jayhawks and Tar Heels are co-favorites at 7-2 at William Hill.

Kansas, Oklahoma and Kentucky also are receiving plenty of action. The Sooners (15-1) have attracted the second-most money at the SuperBook, followed by Virginia (7-1), Kansas and Kentucky (12-1).

Even some massive long shots have attracted action. There had been three bets placed on Florida Gulf Coast, at 9,999-1, to win the tournament at the SuperBook. The Eagles beat Fairleigh Dickinson 96-65 on Tuesday in a First Four game.

Las Vegas sportsbook operator CG Technology reported taking sharp action on Buffalo, Duke, Butler and Gonzaga in the Round of 64. Buffalo is a 14-point underdog against Miami. Duke is a 10-point favorite over North Carolina-Wilmington. Butler is a 4-point favorite over Texas Tech, and Gonzaga is a 1-point favorite over Seton Hall.
