Driver seriously injured in Fremont crash

FREMONT, Calif. -- A driver was seriously injured when he crashed into a tree in Fremont early this morning, according to police.

The crash happened on Paseo Padre Parkway just north of Peralta Boulevard at 12:37 a.m., police said.

The driver was headed south, went off the road and struck a tree.

He was the vehicle's only occupant and was taken to Regional Medical Center of San Jose with life-threatening injuries.
