Chariot commuter service back up in San Francisco after inspection

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Chariot commuter bus service will be back in action starting Monday afternoon, according to a letter sent out to customers at 10 a.m.

Chariot was issued a cease-and-desist order by the state public utilities commission on Wednesday after it failed three C-H-P safety inspections in a row.

The inspections found that not all of Chariot's drivers had the right kind of license to drive a bus. The C-H-P told us that Chariot is removing seats from some of its vans, so that drivers can continue operating with only nine occupants while they take the classes necessary to get a license for 10 or more occupants.

They conducted a re-inspection on Friday, and Chariot says it's now received the green light to resume service.
