BERKELEY, Calif. -- A person reportedly under a train at the Downtown Berkeley BART station Tuesday evening has died, BART officials said.
A BART dispatcher said a report of a person under a train at the station came in around 6:35 p.m.
The station is located at 2160 Shattuck Ave. and was closed at about 6:50 p.m., according to the dispatcher.
BART police, fire crews and medical personnel are at the scene.
Trains will not be stopping at the Downtown Berkeley station and will be single-tracking through the station, the dispatcher said.
Passengers have been advised to expect about 15-minute delays on the Richmond line in the Fremont direction, BART officials said.
