SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Sir Paul McCartney takes the stage at Candlestick Park Thursday night for stadium's final act. For those trying to get there, the evening could get pretty pricey if you're booking a ride to or from the show with an on-demand car service like Uber.

"I'm under the impression that it's supposed to be kind of a cheaper alternative to the taxi system," said visitor Michael Maher.

Those who took these services to Outside Lands experienced the opposite to be true. Some concert goers spent more than the price of a ticket. One person's Twitter post said a 30 minute trip cost $391.

Prices for Uber skyrocket in areas with high demand. Sometimes up to five times what you'd usually pay. Then you need to add in ride time and mileage.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick says without dynamic pricing there would be no availability.

Paul McCartney's show at Candlestick is sold out.
