LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says it is investigating allegations that former "7th Heaven" star Stephen Collins exposed himself to a teenage girl in the early 1980s.
The department said Wednesday that the incident was reported to investigators on Oct. 9, two days after New York authorities acknowledged they had an open molestation inquiry involving Collins.
The Los Angeles County investigation focuses on allegations that Collins exposed himself to the then-13-year-old girl, and whether he annoyed or molested a child. The agency says the incident occurred in 1983.
The 67-year-old actor has not been charged in Los Angeles or New York.
Collins' attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan did not immediately return phone and email messages.
