Salvation Army board member and volunteer David Ogburn delivers Thanksgiving meals to seniors at their homes.
"It's the least I can do on holidays like this," he said. "I think, you know, especially this time of year it's gonna be hard on some people this time of year during the holidays especially those people who don't have a lot of family and don't have anywhere to go perhaps for the holidays."
Ogburn realizes for homebound seniors, this might be their only interaction for the day.
Lucy Liu was so appreciative of the delivery. "I'm so happy. Thank you very much."

In all, the Salvation Army will deliver about 4,000 meals to those in need in San Francisco, taking 200 routes through the city.
Hundreds of volunteers are making this happen, like Victor Chin, who has been volunteering for 30 years. "I believe that, you know, we need to give back to the people who are less fortunate. You know, I've been blessed with so many different things in life. I need to give back to those who haven't and you know, just make them feel happy and joyful during this time."
While the focus Thursday is Thanksgiving and these deliveries, the Salvation Army also has an angel tree program providing toys for those in need for Christmas. The demand is higher this year.
"We're trying to serve more people and we know the need is greater," said Salvation Army Major Matthew Madsen. "As inflation happens and cost,,, everything continues to go up, people are having difficult times just making ends meet. And we don't want the kids to go without or go with less."
