Lake County man arrested for assault

Santa Rosa police arrested a Lake County man early this morning on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing great bodily injury.

Michael Ramey, 21, of Upper Lake, was arrested after a physical fight that occurred in the 2000 block of Range Avenue in Santa Rosa.

Police were alerted to the situation around 3:30 a.m. when the victim, a 21-year-old Santa Rosa resident, arrived at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital's emergency room where he was taken by friends, Sgt. Alissa Johnson said.

The victim suffered fractures and lacerations in the fight.

Ramey was taken into custody and remains in the Sonoma County jail in lieu of $35,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court Tuesday afternoon.
