Montana Tessa Newsom was born in San Francisco at 12:39 p.m., according to the mayor's office. She is 20.5 inches tall and weighs 7 pounds and 12 ounces.
Newsom, 41, and actress Siebel Newsom, 35, were married in Stevensville, Mont., on July 26, 2008.
Newsom has served as mayor of San Francisco since 2004, and is running for the Democratic nomination for governor of California in 2010.
