About Laura Wright: Laura Wright acted in school plays (she went to the same high school as actress Marcia Gay Harden) but never planned to go into show biz. Then she tried out for a part on the soap "Loving" -- and got it. (She roomed with Kelly Ripa when Kelly was on "All My Children" which taped across the hall from "Loving") These days, Laura and husband John, an architect, live in Los Angeles with their two kids, Lauren and John Michael.
Soap operas have been Laura's bread and butter. After "Loving" ended, she took the role of Ally Rescott Bowman to spin-off "The City." Then she switched over to "Guiding Light" and played Cassie Layne from 1997 to 2005. Laura jumped straight from "GL" to "General Hospital," and she's played firecracker Carly Corinthos ever since.
