The eBART project will extend service from the Pittsburg-Bay Point BART station into Antioch.
Officials say eBART trains will be smaller than regular trains and will be able to take passengers from Antioch to the Pittsburg-Bay Point station within 10 minutes.
The expansion project is being coordinated with the Highway 4 widening project. It's expected to be completed in 2015.
