Suspect in San Jose homicide arrested in Las Vegas

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Shaun Moore faces charges in a fatal shooting that happened in broad daylight in downtown San Jose.

U.S. Marshals captured him Friday in the area of Eastern Avenue and Silverado Ranch Boulevard in Vegas.

He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center pending his extradition to California.

Moore is accused of killing 22-year-old Ramon Garcia.

Garcia, the city's 33rd homicide victim this year, was gunned down behind a business in the area of North Third and East Julian streets around 1 p.m. on Aug. 24.

The crime was caught on surveillance cameras and the video is a key part of the investigation.

It shows the father of five getting off his bicycle and leaning against a car, then a man running up to him and shooting Garcia in the head.

Family members say before the shooting, the victim and the gunman were arguing at a park.

Anyone with information about the homicide is urged to contact San Jose police's homicide unit at (408) 277-5283 or Silicon Valley Crimestoppers at (408) 947-7867.
