Taft Hayden, 47, was due in bond court Wednesday. His wife, Mary Hayden, was found dead in her home Sunday. An autopsy determined she had suffered a severe blow to her head.
The mayor of Country Club Hills said she was the victim of a domestic dispute.
The couple has two children -- ages 8 and 10 -- who are now staying with relatives.
