IOWA (KGO) -- People don't always leave good tips when they get poor service at a restaurant. But a husband and wife in Iowa left their server a $100 tip for their $66.65 bill, despite slow service.
Makenzie and Steven Schultz it took 20 minutes for them to get their water and over an hour to get their food. But, they said they also noticed their waiter was serving 12 tables and bartending. That's when they decided to reward the server for his hard work with the big tip.
The couple also left a note on their bill, saying "We've both been in your shoes. Paying it forward."
The Schultzes posted the story on Facebook where it went viral, earning over a million Likes and 150,000 shares. They say they just wanted to share their story as a reminder "to think of the entire situation before you judge."
