SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Bay Area's housing crisis is certainly not fun and games but now there's a game in the works that's based on it. It's a playful way to learn about a very daunting issue.

Alfred Twu is no stranger to board games. He's designed four of them.

"I feel like games are a good way of illustrating complex interactions between groups of people with different goals and opinions," he said.

And what could be more complex than being a regional planner in the Bay Area's housing crisis?

The economy ebbs and flows and if you don't play your cards right, the rent goes up and the commute slows down.

It's competition but also teamwork.

Twu plans to give away a few copies of the game to key bureaucrats and politicians.
