BAY POINT, Calif. -- A driver who reportedly died in a crash on Highway 4 in Bay Point Saturday afternoon may have been shot before he crashed into a center divider, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.
Dispatchers with the sheriff's office received several 911 calls at about 3 p.m. of a shooting on Highway 4 near Bailey Road, sheriff's officials said. Callers said one vehicle shot at another, which crashed into the center divider, according the sheriff's office.
Sheriff's officials said the driver who appears to have been shot has been pronounced dead.
All eastbound lanes of Highway 4 have reopened.
Officials are still searching for the suspect involved in the shooting.
