SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
More than 200,000 people are expected to attend the two weekends of festivities featuring Japanese culture and art.
Events start at 11 a.m. Saturday in San Francisco's Japantown neighborhood. The events are held within the borders of Laguna and Fillmore Streets, and Geary and Bush Streets.
The festival also continues next weekend with a parade scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. starting from City Hall and concluding in Japantown.
