Hilary Swank was in San Francisco this week as her movie, "The Homesman," opened the Mill Valley Film Festival.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- "The Homesman" is a new movie starring Hilary Swank, directed by Tommy Lee Jones. The film, based on a novel of the same name, tells the story of a woman named Mary Bee Cuddy (Swank) who saves the life of George Briggs (Jones). Cuddy then enlists Briggs to help her take three mentally disturbed women, across the Great Plains, to the home of a minister who has pledged to help the trio.

Swank was in San Francisco this week as her movie opened the Mill Valley Film Festival. The two-time Oscar winner sat down with abc7news.com where she talked about this latest project, her inspirations and where, in her home, she keeps those golden statues.
