OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The Oakland Zoo is proudly showing off two iguanas who were once near death and are now thriving.

The pair is at the zoo's Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Room. They were smuggled illegally into the United States a year ago and intercepted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The iguanas were part of a wildlife trafficking shipment that consisted of 60 animals.
