OAKLEY, Calif. -- An Oakley resident says he's putting away college money for his daughter's education and taking a trip to Italy after discovering a winning lottery ticket worth $672,000 on April Fools' Day, California Lottery officials announced today.

Anthony Fazzini is also buying a new truck for his father, the man who purchased the Mega Millions winning ticket - which had matched five of six numbers, according to lottery officials.

Fazzini found the ticket April 1, and had to recheck the numbers several times to make sure it wasn't a prank, lottery officials said.

Fazzini says he's also planning on getting Golden State Warriors playoff tickets, and season passes for next year, according to lottery officials.

The winning ticket was purchased at an Arco gas station located at 4501 Main St. in Oakley.
