New research finds San Andreas Fault is slipping faster than previously thought: report

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Just a week after a 3.9 magnitude earthquake rocked the Hayward Fault in Oakland, new research is highlighting a danger on the San Andreas Fault, according to a new report by San Francisco Chronicle.

Researchers at San Jose State University found the fault is slipping faster than previously thought.

This matters because faults that move faster can generally produce earthquakes more frequently.
