OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A student was violently assaulted at Castlemont High School in Oakland on Thursday morning, according to authorities.

According to a witness, she saw a student with gauze wrapped around their head being wheeled into an ambulance.

"Basically what I saw was like, you know, a cop car, one cop car, and then I went to the store, saw another cop car pull up, and then so after that two boys walked out in handcuffs with the cops. You hear them saying it's a lockdown, no students come out the classroom. Then you see one student come out the front door on a stretcher, gauze wrapped around his head," said the witness.

This is the second violent incident on an Oakland Unified campus in the last month.

In July, a woman was shot and killed at Parker Resource Center, an adult education campus in East Oakland.

Police have not released details on the student's condition or whether they have arrested a suspect.
