Man fatally shot at parking lot in El Cerrito shopping center; police searching for 2 suspects
EL CERRITO, Calif. -- A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of El Cerrito's Del Norte Plaza on Sunday afternoon, and police were looking for two people who were allegedly responsible and had fled.
Police officers from multiple departments responded to the shooting at the shopping center at 11299 San Pablo Ave. at about 12:23 p.m., according to the El Cerrito Police Department.
Witnesses told police that a young man was involved in an altercation with two men near his car, which was parked near the Los Moles Beer Garden restaurant.
The victim was found by police suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene after efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

The two alleged shooters fled in a dark sedan going southbound on South 56th Street, police said.
The El Cerrito Police Department described one of the suspects as wearing a black mask and a black North Face jacket, while the other was wearing a hat and a black Nike jacket.

Police officers from the Kensington and Richmond police departments also responded to the shooting.
