On Saturday, The diocese named the 39 former members of the clergy who church leaders say abused, or face claims of sexually abusing children.

Today Bishop Robert Vasa pledged to prevent sexual abuse in the future.

"This is a wakeup call. It says we need to re-double our efforts, re-inform the people in the pew that we continue to be serious about this and encourage them to do their work at the local level to make sure that no child is ever again harmed under the auspices of church work," said Bishop Vasa.

In 1995, the ABC7 News I-Team investigated several of the priests who were named.
