Attorney: Guinto prepared to defend himself against charges

RICHMOND, Calif. (KGO) -- The attorney for a Richmond teacher accused of molesting students said Friday that his client is prepared to defend himself against the charges.

Ron Guinto faces more than two dozen charges, including kidnapping and 11 counts of lewd acts on a child under 14.

In court Friday, his attorney asked for more time to review evidence.

Prosecutors say Guinto took 11 and 12-year-old boys from Making Waves Academy on overnight field trips where he molested them. So far six alleged victims have come forward.

Guinto will be back in court in May.
