Flag lowered at SF City Hall in honor of labor leader Leroy King

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The flag at San Francisco's City Hall is at half-staff on Monday in honor of a man who helped shape the city.

Leroy King died Friday at the age of 91.

King was a long-time labor leader in San Francisco, bringing labor and black churches together when he ran the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.

He helped establish the Jazz Heritage Center in San Francisco's Fillmore District and the carousel at Yerba Buena Gardens is now named in his honor.
