CONCORD, Calif. (KGO) -- Officials are searching for a suspect accused of fatally shooting a student near Concord's Olympic Continuation High School Monday afternoon.
Police say the male student was shot two blocks from the school by a suspect driving a black sedan.
The suspect apparently got out of the vehicle and approached a group of individuals off campus before shooting him, as others ran for safety.
Officials say the injured senior high school student made his way back to campus where he was picked up and rushed to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The school was on lockdown for a short time after the shooting.
Concord police is asking anyone who may have information about the shooting to call (925) 671-3333.
