It's that time of year again to be planning out your Halloween strategy and mapping the best destinations for trick-or-treating. Real estate database company Zillow has provided the big data to help guarantee that the kiddies have the best time when banging down doors for sugary sweetness in naming the 20 best cities to trick-or-treat.
Zillow's methodology for measuring the best cities to trick-or-treat in are not necessarily weighed on Halloween enthusiasm, but of four data variables: Zillow's home value index, population density, walk score and local crime data. Zillow hopes that these variables will provide accurate data in determining where kids can get the most candy with less walking and less safety risks.
Choosing to trick-or-treat in higher priced neighborhoods follows the popular ideology that more wealthy home owners will surrender wealthier loads of candy.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Zillow has crowned San Francisco as the pumpkin king of trick-or-treating, and the fourth year in a row in which Los Angeles, San Jose, Chicago and Philadelphia all ranked within the top 10.
Zillow also released the best neighborhoods of the top five trick-or-treating cities for a deeper dive into the best local areas:
