The staffs of the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers were selected Monday as the two coaching staffs for the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Practices for the game begin the week of Jan. 21 in Mobile, Alabama, and the game will be played Jan. 26.

Niners coach Kyle Shanahan will lead the South team while Raiders coach Jon Gruden will coach the North squad.

"The Reese's Senior Bowl is excited to have the two Bay Area teams coaching in our 70th annual game," Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy said in a statement. "The Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers are both iconic franchises. With eight Super Bowl victories between them, the Raiders and Niners are historic brands of the league and the Senior Bowl is honored to have them at our game this year."

Shanahan said he was looking forward to getting extra time with players.

"It's about being around people," Shanahan said. "It's hard in the interview process to fully get to know someone. It's hard to get tricked when you're with someone for seven straight days. That's my experience and what I've gotten the most out of it. You know that group of guys better."

The 49ers and Raiders, who both finished 4-12 this season, will pick No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft.
