The iconic hillside sign identifying South San Francisco has received a red, white and blue makeover to honor the nation's 250th anniversary, drawing mixed reactions from residents.
"We have a workforce crisis that starts in the crib. Eighty percent of our parents say they have childcare issues that impact their work, and half of them are leaving the workforce because of it," Supervisor Jackie Speier said.
