Tesla delays solar roof panel announcement

PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Palo Alto-based Tesla is delaying its much-anticipated solar roof panels.

CEO Elon Musk says just two of the four solar shingle options will be available for pre-order in the next few weeks.

The other two won't be available until early next year.

Originally Tesla announced pre-orders would start in April.

Musk didn't elaborate on the delay.
