100-mile-per-hour snowstorm whips through Sierras
A fierce snowstorm with winds of more than 100 miles an hour battered Alpine Meadows in the Sierra Nevada Sunday.

ALPINE MEADOWS, Calif. (KGO) -- A fierce snowstorm with winds of more than 100 miles an hour battered Alpine Meadows in the Sierra Nevada Sunday.

Video taken from Ward Peak shows wind gusts reaching speeds up to 113-miles an hour.

The winds battered trees and heavy snow blanketed the mountain.

The National Weather Service reported the storm moving in late Sunday morning.
