AccuWeather Forecast: Extended cooling trend begins tonight
ABC7 News weather anchor Spencer Christian has your AccuWeather forecast for Wednesday.

Takeaway of the Day

Today was another hot one in our inland communities. At 3:30 p.m., inland temperatures ranged generally from 95 to 99 degrees, with a reading of 104 at Ukiah. It was also quite warm near the bay, where highs reached into the upper 80s. A HEAT ADVISORY remains in effect until 9 p.m. this evening for the Santa Clara Valley but the good news is that our current heat spike is ending, as this day winds down.

The Look Ahead

The refreshing marine layer will return tonight, along with patches of drizzle near the coast and bay marking the beginning of an extended cooling trend. Heading into the weekend, warm weather will hold on through Saturday, as inland highs will be mainly in the low to mid 90s. But we can expect a sharp cooldown on Sunday, accompanied by a breezy-to-gusty wind pattern; and this breezy and cooler weather will continue through at least the middle of next week.
