Takeaway of the Day
The month of May is ending on a nice, warm note. We've had sunny skies from coast to inland, and it has been noticeably warmer than yesterday. At 4 p.m., temperatures ranged from lower 60s at the coast to mid and upper 70s near the bay to mid and upper 80s inland. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight, with just a thin, shallow patch of low clouds along the Peninsula coastline. Low temperatures will be mainly in the lower 50s.
One note of caution: a BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT is in effect through Tuesday morning. Wave heights are elevated, and there is the risk of strong rip currents and sneaker waves. These are dangerous swimming and surfing conditions.
A Look Ahead
The month of June will get off to a warm-to-hot start tomorrow. Skies will be sunny from coast to inland, with afternoon highs reaching into the upper 60s at the coast, lower 80s near the bay, and upper 80s to lower 90s inland. Temperatures will moderate a few degrees on Tuesday, but our weather pattern will remain sunny and warm through the remainder of the week. A cooler pattern will develop next.
