PHOTOS: LA's Wilshire Grand Tower vs. other US skyscrapers

Once open next year, the 73-story Wilshire Grand Tower will not only be the tallest building in Los Angeles, but will also be the highest skyscraper west of the Mississippi.

On Tuesday developers announced that an InterContinental hotel will occupy a portion of the building.
