Study: San Francisco among busiest cities for Thanksgiving traffic

A new study shows San Francisco has the worst get out of town congestion for Thanksgiving in the U.S.

As many of you are planning to hit the road to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends -- guess who has the worst traffic in the U.S. the day before Thanksgiving?

In a study, San Francisco tops the list for busiest travel cities in the U.S. the day before Thanksgiving; Los Angeles, Seattle and San Diego round off the top four.

Today it will take about 44 percent longer to leave town than it would on a typical Wednesday. The study suggests traffic will be heaviest noon until 6 p.m., with peak congestion from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
