Study: SF has worst Thanksgiving getaway traffic in US
A new study shows San Francisco has the worst get out of town congestion for Thanksgiving in the U.S.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- As many of you are planning to hit the road to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends -- guess who has the worst traffic in the U.S. the day before Thanksgiving?

In a study, San Francisco tops the list for busiest travel cities in the U.S. the day before Thanksgiving; Los Angeles, Seattle and San Diego round off the top four.

Today it will take about 44 percent longer to leave town than it would on a typical Wednesday. The study suggests traffic will be heaviest noon until 6 p.m., with peak congestion from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
