San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith sat down for an interview with former Niner and ABC7 Sportscaster Mike Shumann ahead of the team's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams.

When asked how he feels about being in a leadership role, Smith answered, "I've been a leader since day one. I'm the oldest of seven siblings so, you know, it's not my first time having to be on the front line of anything."

He went on to say, "I don't try to go out there and be, you know, this big motivational speaker. But I try to go lead by example and do the right things and, you know, be there for the guys."
