Martinez police say the boy was crossing Alhambra Avenue when he was hit by a car with a 16-year-old girl behind the wheel. There is no word yet on who was at fault.
Police say the boy was wearing a helmet.
The teenage driver was questioned by police at the scene, but has not been taken into custody.
