"Rosie is one of the finest, most outstanding broadcasters in the business," stated special guest Cheryl Jennings from KGO TV who has worked with Rosie for many years.

KGO President and General Manager Mickey Luckoff joined the tribute and said, "Rosie has always been a great contributor and a mainstay in the KGO Newsroom."

Rosie's career began at KNEW in Oakland, then went to KNBR Radio. In 1977, she became the Public Affairs Director for KGO's then sister station KSFX-FM. Rosie began her on-air stint at KGO in 1977 as a weekend host and in 1984 moved to co-anchor of the afternoon news. Rosie's broadcast partner in the Afternoon News is Bret Burkhart.

Rosie was honored with the prestigious Journalistic Excellence and Continuous Community Service Award by the Bay Area Black Journalist Association in 2006.

"This is a most incredible journey, where else but America can a little girl from Mansfield, Louisiana end up as the Afternoon News Anchor on the top Newstalk station in the country….I've been pinching myself everyday for the past 25 years!" exclaimed Rosie.
