Non-profits protest cash for clunkers program

Several non-profit groups protested the government's popular cash for clunkers program in Fairfield.

They showed up on auto row along Interstate 80 where more than 100 clunkers are lined up.

The charities who accept vehicle donations can't compete with the government's offer of up to $4,500 for a clunker.

They want the program amended so the clunkers can go back to non-profit groups and the people who need them rather than being destroyed.
