'49er Fire' in Auburn declared arson

Investigators said the so-called "49er fire" was actually two separate blazes that were intentionally set and burned into one.

The fire burned only 350 acres, but damaged or destroyed 81 homes, and 16 commercial buildings. It also destroyed nearly 70 vehicles.

Total damage is set at $40 million and CAL FIRE is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction of the arsonist.
