Defendant Cavenia Bryant appeared in court in Oakland Friday morning and waived her right to a jury trial. She agreed to let a judge decide the case.
Bryant is facing misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment charges for an attack on salon owner Melissa Seals, who Bryant claims had spread rumors about her.
A warrant is out for the arrest of a second woman seen in the video kicking and punching Seals.
