Watsonville cops nab 3 for breaking into cars

WATSONVILLE, CA

Officers were dispatched shortly before midnight to a possible fight near 445 Wagner Ave. Someone had interrupted the suspects, who were allegedly breaking a car window and attempting to steal items from inside, Sgt. Saul Gonzalez said.

Witnesses provided a description of the suspects and the direction they were traveling, Gonzalez said. Officers searched the area and detained the suspects near 61 Wagner Ave., he added.

Gabriel Zamora, 22, and Efren Zamora, 24, both of Watsonville, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle tampering, petty theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy.

They were booked into Santa Cruz County jail, police said.

A 16-year-old boy, also of Watsonville, was cited and released to a family member, police said.
