Suspect arrested over San Leandro tattoo party shooting

OAKLAND, Calif.

The victims were fatally shot at a tattoo party on October 2 in the parking lot of a San Leandro industrial park. San Leandro Police announced the arrest of one suspect in connection with the shooting Thursday morning.

Paul Arthur Stevenson, III, 20, is currently being held by police. Authorities say Stevenson has a criminal record, but police were light on the specifics.

Stevenson is being held on three counts of murder in connection with the shooting deaths of Laneaisha Northington, 16; Shaneace Keal, 19; and 23-year-old Joshua Alford.

The three victims were inside a car at a tattoo party with three others who were also wounded by gunfire. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.

"We have actively worked this investigation since the shooting occurred and have developed substantial information that led us to Stevenson," Sgt. Ted Henderson with the San Leandro Police Department said.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a second suspect.

Stevenson was arrested in San Leandro with help from the Oakland Police Department's SWAT team. The District Attorney is expected to file murder and attempted murder charges.

Police have yet to reveal the types of guns used in the crime, but for a community that is still shocked by the shooting, police are calling the arrest progress.
