McDonald's to ditch plastic foam coffee cups

The fast food chain is testing paper coffee cups at 2,000 restaurants, many in the Bay Area.

The move comes after an environmental group asked McDonald's to switch to cups that can be recycled. The paper coffee cups are double hulled to prevent burning. McDonald's said it wants to see how they go over with customers.

No permanent switch is planned yet.
