Police were called to a home on Georgia Way late Saturday night. They found a 29-year-old man who had been stabbed five times in the upper back.
Officers say the man had been involved in a domestic dispute with the boy's mother just before the stabbing. They say the boy attacked his stepfather in an effort to protect his mother.
The stepdad was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening wounds. Charges against him are pending. His stepson is charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
