Walnut Creek resident's palm tree headed to Bay Bridge

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.

A tree company paid the homeowner $1,000 for the tree.

It's going to be tested for diseases and then planted in the median along the approach to the new eastern span.

The tree company is still looking for more than 22 palms that are 18 to 25 feet tall.
