SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- If you're in the stands at a baseball game, you may have a glove on one hand, but there's a good chance you'll have a cellphone in the other.
ABC7 News reporter Jonathan Bloom went behind the scenes at AT&T Park for a look at how the stadium handles all those phones and why drones could soon be a big part of it.
In between the singing and cheering, there's tweeting and sharing. Fans so enthralled with their phones, they may not notice the patchwork of nondescript boxes all around them that make it possible.
Above and below, modern stadiums are packed with cell sites and hot spots. And in a press conference at AT&T Park, AT&T showed live video from a drone being used to inspect that equipment at Husky stadium in Seattle.
It's work that's traditionally done by climbers. now, AT&T is testing drones, which could prove to be not just cheaper and faster, but in some cases, better. Watch the video above for the full report.
