SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- It was a rough morning commute for some BART riders today after a train broke down in the middle of the Transbay Tube. That caused some significant delays for passengers heading into San Francisco from the East Bay.
BART says there was a braking problem on one of the cars on the disabled train. They managed to get it moving, but delays were running about 20 minutes for riders.
This is the second major issue for BART since yesterday. Crews worked through the night to fix track damage on the Pittsburg-Baypoint line. Service between Concord and Walnut Creek was stopped during the commute last night.
There is no word on what caused a wheel to fall off a train and damage the track.
