Looks like Benedict Cumberbatch is now off the market.
The Internet was buzzing after "Star Trek: Into Darkness" and "Sherlock" star became engaged to girlfriend Sophie Hunter on Wednesday. But it isn't so much Cumberbatch's announcement that sparked headlines so much as how he went about it.
In Wednesday's edition of The Times, a British newspaper, a small ad appeared in the Forthcoming Marriages section announcing the couple's engagement.
The ad is definitely a retreat from celebrities who commonly announce their engagement in magazines or across social media. Still though, the small announcement has earned a big response on Twitter, breaking many fangirls hearts.
Cumberbatch started dating Sophie Hunter in 2012, a theatre director based out of London. Cumberbatch will star in "The Imitation Game" about British mathematician Alan Turing, which will be released on November 28.
